The winter solstice is the New Year for my husband with his SAD (seasonal affective disorder) condition. The days are at last getting longer.
Your dolly looks sad because she doesn't have any hair.

Happy New Year, Rachael! Thanks for visiting our blog! Leave your tree up as long as you like! Our mother always put the tree up on Christmas Eve, then insisted it had to stay up til Russian Christmas (something like January 12th, I think). As she got older she left it longer and longer. I remember one year she left it up til February . . . .
