In Quilt Shops this month.......

Is a new reproduction line from Baum/Windham textiles, called 'Colonies Reserve'

The above early 19th century dress' wonderful roller print has been faithfully reproduced~ an exact likeness in both hue and scale~

Windham happened to have a swatch of this in their own collection of early fabrics. They have catagorized it into the 1830s, but my little dress here is 18teens at latest. It is still, as was obviously then, a timeless design! I am so very thrilled to have a period gown made up from it~ so RUN, don't walk, to your nearest quilt store and grab you up a few yards, its sure not to last long!

Hi Racheal, How wonderful. I have worked with the sales reps. from Windham and a very good friend of mine (Jeanne Horton from The Country Sampler in Spring Green) designs a line for them. It takes any where from about a year and a half to two years before they release their lines. They are very devoted in getting it right.Happy Valentines Day, Julie

Oh my goodness, isnt she a doll?? I love that you have your girls model the dresses, you really get a feeling for how the clothes looked on the children of yore...

You should sell patterns for the little dresses like this! I'd love to make one for my little girl...

Ooooooh, I love that fabric too.

Rachael - did you do a post on early pinking tools? Or am I dreaming?

I just now ordered my cut of this fabric.

Any hope for more info on this particular dress of yours for those of use who have little girls they want to dress up in a recreation?
