Class will begin on 1 April, 2024. It is a work at your own pace class using your own materials. I will be available to you as your guide to help you compose, and complete an interior of your own design.

Beneath Thy Poft Oak
This 12-month in-depth course explores the art of 17th c bead work. Originally designed for a needlework seminar in Dallas Texas, this piece features a 17th c Ladye sitting beneath a Southern Post Oak tree, alongside a beautiful bush of yellow roses.
Fully downloadable monthly lessons are accompanied by private youtube videos. You need not have any prior experience with any type of beadwork to take this class!
Beading techniques taught in this course are:
Flat & Looped Cartouche Treatments, Speckling, In-Hand and Grounded(wire edge) Peyote Stitch, French Wired Leaves & Petals, Detached Techniques for Hair & Lace, Netted Overlays, How to design & work clothing pieces, working with mache figures, and how to make and assemble detached flowers. There is also an in-depth history lesson on glass & beads in 17th c England.
All** materials needed to work the above pictured panel are included in the class kit, which will be mailed after full payment has been received. **Students will need to provide their own slate frame, and basic tools like scissors, wire cutters, pliers, and tweezers. Assistance is provided for finding them online if you do not already have them.
The full class kit is INCLUDED in the price of the course. All beads included in the kit are in the above colours.

Class starts when the student enrolls and will run for 12 months.
